i bought both liquid utopia and deadwater, i meant to just use the liquid utopia (says it prevents corrosion and algae) but i wasnt thinking and put a drop of deadwater in my loop first

1. is it okay to put the utopia in with the 1 drop of dead water?

2. how much liquid utopia do i use? it doesnt say on the syringe

what is dead water?

Copper Sulfate is used in aquariums, ponds, and pools as an algaecide and also as a treatment for parasitic bacterial infections in fish. The same properties that allow it to work in these roles make it perfect for use as a biocide in PC water cooling. It functions similarly to silver, in that it interrupts the metabolic processes of bacteria and algae. In fact, some hospitals use a combination of the two, in copper-silver ionization, to ensure the sterility of their water source. Copper Sulfate in it's crystal form is blue in color and this is were the slight blue tint comes from. Dead-Water is very powerful, and should be used sparingly, at 1-2 drops per liter. It can be used alone, or as extra insurance against growth in conjunction with silver killcoils in Pure-silver or other pre-mixed coolants.

In the concentrations present, the copper sulfate in Dead-Water it is reasonably safe, but care should still be taken when handling as it can be a skin irritant. Deadwater should not be ingested, and should be stored away from children. Once diluted into your loop, it is much safer, and poses very mild health hazards.

I just use Thermochill EC6 as it has everything in it no need to add anything else Plus Mick recommended it.

this is my first wc setup and i decided just to buy what they had when i bought it, i was figuring on going distilled next time i change out the fluid

well it wont hurt ya to use it outside of maybe having to tear apart the blocks to clean, But if you already have it then no it wont hurt to use both products. What I liked about the EC6 is they say add nothing to it, as it has everything in it already. All I added was some Mayhems Dye to make it my color.

Dead water + liquid utopia will create gunk.

BTW that review is flawed on so many levels and is bias.

1) bentleya - was admin of WCUK were the product is made

2) the review is out of context and does not prove any thing

3)they say Ec 6 is better than water and that is a lie. Is is not and its total bull. i know cos ive tested it.

ThermochillEC6Temps.jpg

4) Freezer Test - there on drugs ....

5) Boil test - again there on drugs ....

6)Eco friendly and completely Bio-degradable - no its not 5% will never degrade ever.

7) This new premix non conductive coolant - no its not as soon as it gets in the system it becomes conductive and he's done nothing to prove it any other way. So its bull.

Sorry did i just shoot sown there review with a barrel of laughs ...

How ever after shooting down the review E6 is a good normal pre-mix once you got over the bull that comes with it.

Mick to the rescue lol well when I purchased it I did it solely on ur recommendation it works well with ur Dyes. I didnt research it lol. So I'm saying ur recommend was enough for me as I know the testing you've done on this type of stuff.

Why would copper sulphate be harmful? Heatsinks don't give rashes and I have a massive (about size of a shoe) sulphur crystal ornament on my shelf, when I touch it with my bare hands it just smells like curry afterwards, doesn't burn or anything - heck, I even went to the bottom of a volcano and picked up lumps of sulphur as souvenirs (one part of the ground sounded hollow though and being as it was a steaming salt lake at the bottom I promptly left

). I don't claim to be a scientist but seems a bit overcautious to me
