Limitations....

Kay. Nice forum, kudos to creators...but WTF is up with the regulations?!

I've run into two, never before seen before (in any other forum), post regulations.

  • Limited Amount Of Image Posting
  • LIMITED AMOUNT OF CHARACTERS IN A POST
:cussing:Not to be an idiot, or a hothead, but thats just plain stupid. You're limiting the content of a post? What if we're posting a guide (which I had PLANNED on doing, but they will not fit, and they include too many images.) and you run out of space?

Could the Admin's and Moderator's PLEASE discuss this, because this is a little too strict. Instead of limiting your users on image posting, why not in the rules say, all images under 640x480 in JPEG format. You could also link them to this.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

Its a quick and simple image resizer from Windows that integrates into the "Right Click" Window.

As for limiting post count, that is out of this world. Especially 2000 Characters. A forum I'm very avid in allows 1300 Characters in their SIGS.

Please think about removing the post character limit, and or maybe loosening or removing the image post count and have them <<640x480 in JPEG only.

Thanks.

Thanks for pointing these out. Both issues are now fixed.

You must appreciate that there are probaly around 1000 options that can be changed when configuring a forum, and until someone stumbles across a problem like you have above, then they never get noticed.

It wasn't set up that way, purposly? Oh, I thought it was, sorry! :)

And yeh, me and PV5150 have a PHPBB Forum ourselves, very featureful. And, free too! :)

No, i have relaxed a lot of the restrictions that vbulletin has by default...i just missed a couple i guess ;)

You think PHPBB is bad for options, Vbulletin has about 3x as many...lol...its mad!

LOL. I'm downloading a "Freebutnotsupposedtobe" version of vBulliten off a "site" to try out sometime but i doubt i'd use it. its a pain to install them.
