Lightweight Laptops

I'm looking for a laptop that'd be great for carrying with me when travelling on trains that I could use for t'internet, music and watching DVDs. From what I can gather netbooks like the Asus eeePC and Dell Inspiron Mini will do the first 2 but not the last as they don't have a DVD drive. The options I've come up with would be to have a netbook and lug around an external DVD drive, get a bigger, more expensive laptop that has a built in DVD player or, ideally, find some software to rip the DVD to the HD so I could watch it from a file. Does anyone have any thoughts, recommendations or any other options I could go for? The lighter and cheaper the better really.

i think there is a netbook with a dvd drive. Think asus bought one out.

EDIT: its the Asus Eee PC 1004DN

Cheers for that, hadn't heard about that one. Will have a search round for who's cheapest. If that fails though anyone know any good software for ripping DVDs, never branched into that area before?
