Lian Li PC-O7SX Case

Lian Li PC-O7SX

So after seeing this case in all its glory from the Skylake competition here on OC3D, I kinda fell in love with this case. It's expensive, but I'm willing to take that cost since it seems to be extremely high quality. Lian Li cases usually are anyway. And it fits well with my long PSU which is an EVGA P2 1000 watt (200mm long).

But nothing is ever easy as you know, since ASUS still loves to make their motherboards shine with all kinds of freaking weird colours!! My current one is the Sabertooth X99 and no way in Hell am I going to replace that heh. Nothing really goes well together with this colour scheme in my opinion when it comes to water cooling using clear tubes (hence I used rubber black until now). And on top of that my ASUS Poseidon GTX 980 Ti has red on the edges of the cooler shroud.

I guess I'm forced to do some mild modding in this situation, perhaps get the red on the graphics card painted. Maybe also the TUF shroud on the motherboard.

Any suggestions for this?

If you're going to mod the Poseidon (although I'd be tempted to swap it for a card with a proper block) I'd say make the red Gun mettle grey?
-edit- remember that the colors won't stand out as much thanks to the glass.

I agree with Barnsley, something on a grey-scale would be nice IMO

I actually just sold an EK Titan X waterblock, since my old EVGA 980 Ti coil whined. The Asus card is the only one that doesn't coil whine below 200 fps, yeah the struggle is real. This is my 6th 980 Ti, so no way I'm swapping that out lol. Besides it actually cools just as well, as an EK block on water.

But regarding the colour I guess if I could find one that matches the light brown/grey of the motherboard, perhaps you're right with the gun mettle. Will have to look that up.

The reason why I'd suggest that is the GPU is pretty much the centerpiece of whatever build goes in that case. A great block (maybe partnered with bright coolant) would really stand out.

You are right of course, but alas that train has run its course. The black (or black/metal) colour of the EK blocks just fits in with everything. However I think my time with reference graphics cards is done for.
