Lian-Li PC-75 Piano Black Build

Well this is a showcase for Phil's work. The pictures don't do it justice, I'm really pleased with it but terrified of scratching it. Will be building up the rig over the next week. Got a DFI NF4 SLI-DR, Storm G5, dual 6800GT's with DD Maze4's and Lunaforce chipset block to go in etc. My first watercooling build so here's hoping I don't screw up.

My god that thing looks beautiful, a really stunning piece of work.

Looks like you have the watercooling to go with it as well, good luck with the install, im sure it will go fine.

Heres hoping you dont scratch it.

Thanks Master_G! Yeah, Mr Stanbridge has done a fine job for me and I'll try and make sure I live up to it. So far I'm braiding everything in sight. At the weekend I've got to take apart my only pc for most of the parts so I need a quick turnaround :)

mr stanbridge always does a fine job lol, its his speciality and god given gift to mod computers in teh best way fit lol

the comp looks nice mate, just make sure you make th internals look as good as the externals

Phil

Looks great, and thanks for the comments. One thing mate, you'll probably have to move the pump over if you install dual GT's. Not a major problem though is it. Also another thing, depending on the type of rad you use you will have to remove the optical drives and place one right at the bottom - unless you cut the length of barbs down. There's ways round it but enjoy, its quite a fiddly install!

No problem I'll have a good fiddle!

Got a 120.3 in there with a performance shroud but I'll only be using one optical drive so I can have it lower down. Might move the pump to one side of the hard drive cage and dremel out a bit to allow the pump output tubing to route nicely if its a problem where it is.

Thanks for the comments PHILIP1193, my obsessive compulsive nature should (in theory) make sure the internals look good. I'm already braiding cables you couldn't possibly see.

i think evey one on here has obsessive compulsive nature over computers i know i certainly do lol

good luck and dont forget them pics

Okay here's how I got on with my build

PC-759.jpg

There's my loop post leak test with all the blocks now attached to the motherboard. The turns are not as severe as I thought especially considering the chipset block. I'd put a lot of that down to the 7/16 tygon tubing

There's everything hooked up

Closeup of the loop. The picture makes it look as though the tubes have really flattened out on the tight bends but its a bit of an illusion cos its nowhere near as bad as it looks. Shame about the bleedin colour the Zerex makes the water go, if only it was clear or at least in blue or something. I'll have to add some blue uv die despite not really being into lighting

Here's a view of the full rig

Had a few issues. For one, at the moment there's no room for an optical drive, lol (slap on forehead). I actually had a performance shroud in there and everything. The case looked soooo huge with 6 drivebays I didn't really give it much thought. Anyway with a dual bay res I couldn't even use the shroud without an optical drive and without the shroud the turn on the tubing is too severe with the drive. It's not helped by the really long standard thermochill barbs. Anyway will make do for now but must get a single bay res or a double floppy bay one and forgoe the bottom fan controller. So I'm gonna have to drain the loop .....doh!

Still good experience and thanks once again Phil for a lovely case

that looks very nice mate!!!!! really good job by your self on the build and phil for the case

dare i say it im enviouse

Looks very nice mate. I agree about the water colour, wack a bit of dye in there should sort it out.

Can't wait for my case to arrive :D

PC65 in blueee :D Also some blue panels for the chilly1 extreme but I'm not selling that unit :(

Somehow gonna have to cram my watercooling gear in a pc65.

Very nice, it'll be very tight but I always think watercooling setups look really good in the smaller cases. Why are you unhappy if you're not selling the chilly 1? :)

I think even the other way the psu will mean the routing will be too tight. Won't 90degree barbs affect the flow a lot ..... he says with a chipset waterblock...:)

You can swap the rad around unless you use angled barbs which does restrict the flow. In fact the blowholes are in the best place possible in the 75. I tested the blowholes further towards the front and that generated even more hassle.

I'm just gonna put some angled barbs in my FS thread in the classified. They're 45 degree ones .
