Just wondering how many of you have a legal copy of Windows?? Whether it be XP,2000 or whatever. Personally I think it is a rip-off to pay that amount of money for Windows but what are your thoughts??

Cheers,

Dave

I bought my copy of XP as OEM which didnt work out too bad...but if i ever had to purchase a copy of Office, i'd have to re-mortgage the house!!

Yeah, I think it's a rip-off. :cussing: If all computers in the world have legal windows, imagine how much income would that be for M$.

lol, i kinda feel guiilty bout the windows thing but office and any other software....not at all!! if i paid for all my software i would be in debt about 3 grand!!!

damn im tired..gdnite

I bought xp-pro I figure the operating system is the heart of the entire system so if that isnt up to snuff then your entire system is pretty much fragged. Yea, it hurt to lay that credit card up there to get it but.... oh well, havent had that much problem with xp-pro since I first got it. Hope it stays that way.

Too bad billy boy wont give a big discount for the next OS he has cooking up.

I bought XP Pro and it cost me £80!

I'll prbs buy Longhorn after I have

1: purchased a 64bit CPU and

2: Waited till all the cr@p things are ironed out :D

Well its sposed to win 64 isn't it?

Anyway, like I said I'm waiting for it to become stable (or as stable as windows can be) and then I'll go get it - legally! ;)

 you may have missed a few million programs

Like windows.

I would never buy anything like photoshop or office. Who the hell pays $600 for some drawing program. I used to have a legit windows xp home I got free, but microsoft ****ed me over and did not reactivate my windows with a new serial when I installed 3 new hardware components. So I just got a xp pro sp2 crack, works great. I plan on not buying windows 64 as well.

The only thing i will say is that i know lots of people that have valid Windows XP licenses, but still use the cracked versions, because they hate having to authenticate their install with Microsoft when they reinstalll.

Yeah bugs me too but last time it went smooth as hell, just entered the code and bang, I was in. Usually I have to call the thieving bar stewards! :)

you have to laugh a the whole activation process, because people who pirate windows just use the corporate version which does not need to be activated! the only people who have to endure the long winded xp activation are the ones who actually pay for it!!
