Leak suggests huge performance leap for AMD's Zen 5 Ryzen 8000 series CPUs

I just want lower power usage and lower heat.

Just use your cellphone for low power usage and lower heat. All others want POWAAA!

Seriously, AMD has the best power/performance ratio and that will not change. If you really need to lower your CPU power consumption, just buy entry level CPU, not high end.

High end is not for everyone (surely not for those who save $ on electricity). I personally do not care about power consumption of my CPU, when my GPU is 5x more power hungry in 4k gaming and I do not care about that either :D

Live is about choices and priorities, right?

+ In agreement, you only live once, give us the power :)

Actually I would like a 16 core with 3DvCache stacked on both CCD or even a 32 core with quad ccd but not sure if the socket could handle that..

Zen5 is going to be big and of course they are going to clock the hell out of them, even with an overclock I can just about get 5ghz out of my 5800x not exactly a huge overclock so I see no reason why any CPU released these days will be any different.

tbh the power issue is one thing some care about and heat another, but myself my CPU is only using 140watts and only gets to around 80C at full load, which is perfectly fine and stable for a CPU these days and really in the scope of CPU's isn't too shabby at all.

So unless these new zen5 chips somehow end up at 250watts and 95+C Idk what any of you need worry about ? of course the upper end of the stack might reach near those levels but if your buying a 7950X I doubt very much you care on them issues.

expectations atm on lots of things are all over the shop in the industry some valid arguments on many things on all sides, but sometimes even a good product from any of them gets absolutely hammered.

I had some guy try to tell me that apple taking all of tsmc's 3nm wafer stock for the next year wouldn't be a valid reason why nvidia wouldn't use samsung's nodes for the 5k series and launch when they like and not 2025 when they could use the 3nm.

Idk how can them two nodes even remotely compete ?

personally I couldn't care less about power or heat so long as my PSU can feed it and my cooling is able, not in the least on board with the climate rubbish as I know very differently on it.
