LCD display

I am sure that this can be done.. But unsure how..

I have just got my nice new Mk2 ST which has case of a Mk2 with the window for the LCD

Does anyone know the size of the display that would normall fit in there and can you go and buy one and using a windows program get it to display your own info

????

You can get an MO display in there I'm sure with a little modification - but obviously it wont connect to the ST in any shape or form. You'll have to extend the USB cables up through the capillary hole of the case and link it to your motherboard. You'd have to do the same again for the power supply.

So is the LCD that comes with the Mk2 a standard size???? one that I could pick up at Maplin???

Look for a small LCD that fits into the floppy bay...it is prolly arround the same size...I wouldnt bother personally...THe mach 2 comes with an LCD so i would have gone for that in order to avoid any modding trouble etc.

If you really want an LCD get an MO MX series display.They are like £80+

The two line ones. I had an MX 212 USB which was looking great and came with a keypad...

Upgraded to a 4 line a few weeks ago though in order to improve its looks .

Went for a 214 USB wich set me back arround £100 with all its parts etc.
