The original Kingston Cloud was one of our favourite headsets last year. Today we take a look at the updated 7.1 USB version.

Now those are some comfy looking headphones. Really digging the look of the headset too. Might have to look into these. Thanks for the review Bryan :)

I bought the original version ten days ago... oops. Seriously they're amazing though and for the price can't be beaten.

I would have loved a tri-pole connector instead of the separate mic/headphone jacks for using with my phone but generally they're just plugged into my sound card via the front panel so agree with Bryan on that one - unless you need the USB card the originals are just fine and with no price as yet I imagine the originals will be better value for a while yet.

I'm thinking this version would work especially well with notebooks etc with average onboard audio. I do love the stealth look of the black/grey as well.

So the same awesome headset that has better mircophone and more connectivity options? Don't see how it can't get less than a Gold Award. Nice review Bryan!

It says it was Bryan:p

Ask my supervisor ;)

What's his name?, and don't say Mr. Andersson...

Anyway, back on the subject here... I think it's a bit of a shame that the only difference they made with his new edition is the inclusion of a USB sound card. Why not just simply make the cable end USB rather?... since the headset already has an edition with the jacks.
And why not have the USB sound card as an accessory which you can purchase, if you so desire it?...

As I'm personally a USB headset kind of guy and if this one would've been USB, then I'd probably gotten it, over my Logitech G35's.

This is usb... also 3.5mm headsets are better. You can plug them into better DACs/Amps. Can't with a usb. Also this usb addon they have allows the new headset to do virtual 7.1 surround. The older version probably wouldn't have done it correctly so they released a slightly newer model that could. They will make more money off a new headset then a pure stand alone add on.
