According to GDC's schedule Just Cause 3's Engine can already support DirectX 12. Is a DirectX 12 update incoming that will also bring additional visual fidelity?

It'll be interesting to see if the implementation of dx12 with graphical enhancment does anything for multi gpu, or if AMD/NVIDIA will need to do some driver work. Because I doubt intel is going to be helping get the avalanche engine playing nicely with multi gpu setups

I doubt much visual improvement would take place outside of additional effects and NPCs. It would probably offer more performance. Unless they have been working on it for some time then we may be surprised at what they will show off to us

Why would they bother? Unless they are trying to entice the people who haven't played it yet, but those with the interest and capable hardware would have by now.

It's a great game and I've completed the storyline, not but I'm not sure if I'd replay it even with a graphical bump in quality.

Both JC1 and JC2 were pretty cool at the time. The latter supported Crossfire and SLI too. Maybe they left that out and didn't bother because they switched to DX12 mid dev?

I don't know..

I bought JC3 legally the other day and took a brief look at it. TBH and I am probably wrong it doesn't look that much better than JC2. What I mean is, it's been ages since I played JC2 so haven't compared them lately but it doesn't look that much better to me.

However, that said it is rather pretty and was much more fun following the story than JC2 which was very flat and bland story wise.

I hope DX12 brings multi adapter. It did in Ashes of the Singularity and worked rather well in that so I do have some hope :)
