bit bored thought I'd share, since im going to uni in sept and taking my copmuters with me they wont be able to use em (obviously) so thought I'd build them one out of old stuff I had lying around. They just use it to word process and check emails etc.

Some small beige case wacked 4 blowholes on it and some quiet YStech fans.

MSI KT3 Ultra motherboard

AMD 2400+ running at 12.5x166 (as opposed to 15x133)

1GB corsair pc2700

thermalright SLK-947U with quiet 92mm fan

MSi GeForce4 Ti4600

80GB WD 7200rpm 8mb HD

LG 52x CD-ROM

Samsung CD-RW (40-12-40x)

Thermaltake 480W purepower active PFC PSU

some floppy drive

seems to be working fine - just installing windows xp sp1 now.
 
nice one - its funny really how we like to run our systems to the extreme when in actual fact a very cheap and simplistic build like that is perfectly adequate for 90% of the day to day stuff.
