hey guys

I'm changing my pc to an utterly new one! but I was just wondering which psu i have to buy.

The spec for the new pc is as below:

CPU: Core 2 Duo E8500

Mainboard: GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4

RAM: 1GB DDR2 PC2-6400 x 4

HDD: SATA-2 500GB WD5000AAKS

ODD: Pioneer DVD Multi DVR-215BK

Graphic Card: GIGABYTE GeForce 8800GT 512MB

Keyboard & Mouse: Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000

O/S: Windows VISTA Home Premium 64 Bit

Monitor: Samsung SM226BW 22 inch Wide

Case: NZXT Lexa (or Antek Fusion if 8800GT fits in. anyone knows???)

*No overclocking will be done.

I reckon 450W will be ok but need experts' help!

Any recommendations for exact brand name & model will be highly appreciated!

Cheers

if you're a tidy cable freak, which i've discovered i'm turning into, you might want to get something with modular cables too.

that way only the cables you need can be plugged into your psu.

Should do, the 8800gt is shorter than a motherboard is wide. However you would have to use a different motherboard as it's mATX only.

PSU wise the Corsair 520w/450w would be more than enough.
