This is just AWESOME! I thought previously biggest known SSD was the 4TB SSD of Mushkin that would be released soon. This is a huge leap! Wonder if this might bring the big change to SSD prices

this one's a great achievement, can't wait till the competition catches up, then it'll be within reach to a lot more archive fiends, we back up everything :)

Ya its a huge leap.. but my only concern is reliability and durability with such an advancement

As long as you have a regular backup strategy it shouldn't be too bad. I think they're going to cost a fortune, at least to start with so most early adopters probably already have a NAS or other system.

I think it's more for caching huge files that are being worked on in an enterprise environment as opposed to a home user keeping all my steam/origin/uplay games and media library. Having said that... it would be awesome! Finally one drive to rule them all.

Shame it will probably be around $5k at current SSD pricing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this just what 3D NAND is supposed to be?

Companies like Samsung and Intel should be releasing devices like these soon, most likely with better performance.

Here's an article from last August:

What's your point? 3d nand or not its the first drive available at these capacities. Speed is pretty irrelevant in ssds anyway. They all are so fast the tiny differences in IOPS doesn't change anything. It only matters when it's not a sata 3 drive being compared to a PCI3 drive. I'll wait till Crucial come out with there's. Probably be the cheapest and they make solid products so easy choice for me
