ITX board for Pentium Anniversary

So, spurred on by Tom's review I've decided to start on my next rig, which will eventually house a broadwell chip I think, but for now, will be built around a pentium anniversary.

For the future upgrade plans I'm looking at Z97 boards, I'm currently still on socket 1155.

And here is my dilema. Not having another haswell chip easily available, I need something that will take the pentium out of the box, or will allow me to flash the bios without requiring another chip.

I do like the aesthetics of the MSI gaming board, but the Asus Z97i-Plus has better placement of the 24 pin for the corsair case, anyone have any idea if I can get either running with the pentium easily? I'm working on the fact the bios upgrades only appeared in June and stock in most suppliers will be with older bios for a good while yet.

Yes, it will run on both, with the latest bios, the issue I'm trying to avoid is being stuck without a way to flash that bios as I have no other 1150 chips available.

I am wondering if anyone knows whether either board will let me flash to the newer bios from a usb stick with the unsupported pentium in the socket.

I was in a similar situation when I bought my Rampage IV (when Ivy-E came out) and although it can allegedly flash from USB with no components it wasn't happening for me. I took it back to OCUK and they flashed it with a Sandy and tested it for me with my chip. I really should of realized before I brought it home, i'm sure they would have done it. Anyway you've really just got to buy it from a retailer who will confirm the BIOS revision and check out which support the G3258. I had just thought all Z97 boards would to be honest.

Won't broadwell be on another socket with a new chipset?
