It's official, Elon Musk has struck a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion

Biggest gift to humanity he could make is to just close the whole of Twitter down...social media has done more damage to democracy than anything else in its short history.

That is why he has bought it. Not to close it down but to end this "wokeism" that is plaguing everything these days.

I never, ever listen to podcasts ever but today a video podcast popped up on Youtube. I only opened it because it mentioned the song "Everything in its right place" by Radiohead which was a glaring attack on the oncoming "wokeism" long before it happened. It was basically Thom Yorke attacking the fact that every one is supposed to conform, think in a certain way, act a certain way and etc (hence the part "Yesterday, I woke up sucking on a lemon" and "There are two colors in my head
What, what is that you tried to say?") basically pointing out that many only think in black and white.

Any way this podcast reckons that we are now on the verge of coming out of "wokeism". And this will go a long way to help with that.

I can't tell you how many times I have been watching TV with my mother and she has continually complained about people being on these crappy "vote out shows" she watches and saying that basically if she could she would remove them from the show.

Which if you think about it? is the cancel culture vibe sneaking into her head. Idealism. I don't blame her of course. I blame every one who wants to passively aggressively get their own way and not hear opinions or the consequences.

That's why I am still here. Because if I say something and it es someone off? good. If I offend someone? even better. At least they can come back at me and we can talk about it. Unlike Facebook where you say one thing that's even slightly warm and you get a 30 day ban. And they even remove your marketplace access. Yes, kick people where it hurts because it's all about money isn't it? FFS :D

Twitter is hugely more popular than Facebook of course. However, it's exactly the same. Whilst I can't stand bellend Trump because well, he's a bellend silencing him is reprehensible. It is vile, wrong and should never happen. TBH? if wokeists had not tried to stomp him out and silence him? then he would NEVER have had the following he had. Like I say, I think the guy is a huge phallus but at the end of the day I always adopt the quote -

"There's a difference between a hate speech and a speech that you hate". Stuffing your hand over someone's mouth, no matter how stupid they are, is wrong. Completely wrong. If anything you should let them mouth off so that people can see what sort of a person they are. If I had ever had kids I would have taught them how to weed out d1cks and just avoid them. Not try and passively aggressively silence them. That's the coward's way out. Just because you shut someone up? it doesn't mean you have gotten rid of them or they have ceased to exist.

And that's it really isn't it? if I ever Google for forums now? it won't find them. It pretends they no longer exist, and instead wants you to use Twitter or Facebook groups etc. Of course it wants that. There you can be watched, banned and moderated.

The absolute worst part about cancelling someone is that they don't actually go away. All it serves to do is make people angry.

They reckon that we are going from the 70s to the 80s again. Like, in the 70s it was all hippies and passive aggression and then in the 80s that was stomped out and we went back to doing what we pleased - with consequences for going too far. Not immediately stopping people from going to far and pretending that you have swept it under the rug.

Regardless of if it gets better or not which given a lot of what go's on at times it can't get worse, musk already proved one thing it's all about the money so it's nice to see that simple fact come to light as it explains a lot of why they do what they do and why they also don't do what they are meant to do.
