judging by my past computer experience

and how many screw up's i've had from...well, allsorts

i figured it would be better to ask

safe.jpg

is that a safe tempreture?

i never used to let my E6600 @ 3GHz go above 55/55 ....but is that ok?

its perfectly stable in windows, dual F@H for like 48 hours and counting...

but i dont want it to burn out on me tbh:(

voltage = 1.4

cooling = scythe ninja

but this pc is like, steaming hot, this room is usually cold, about 16*C

and its a pretty big room

its now showing 24*C

its warmed the room up, so i think it is running quite warm tbh

if intel's sensor is wrong, ... then what do you think would be better?

and the chipset on the motherboard is really hot

as are the ...umm ...PWM's or whatever they are, that are next to the cpu socket

TAT has always been wrong for me.

As you can see it thinks youre using a Pentium M, which has a different Tjunc to conroes for a start.

Coretemp is pretty close again but I dont think it's 100% with some of the newer revs.

thats speedfan

coretemp crashes my pc for some reason :S

i have no idea what aux is, but its probably (hopfully) wrong

the case is small, the only fans in it are 80mm

the chipset is rather hot too...

as are the um....lil black things next to the cpu that have a copper heatsink on them

i'm pretty sure they;re called PWM's

i have 3 hard drive's in the way of the intake fan...

2 exaust 80mm icute fans

and then the psu ofcorse, which has a 120mm fan too...

feeling the scythe, the other side of the fan, the metal is quite warm...as is the air coming out of it.....i dont know tbh

Have you checked that your Ninja is seated properly and the thermal paste is applied evenly as that is bloody hot!

Edit:

Duh... was replying to a window i'd had open for several hours... My bad.

Yeah that is quite warm, plus I don't think you need 1.4v for 2.8GHz. Try 1.35v BIOS. Try reseating your HS/F and if your PC is in a confined area where it cant breathe freely, move it.

atm, i used up the last of my thermalpaste seating it this time, so i darent reseat it, without thermalpaste it would be worse...

i've resorted to opening the window

which gets me 68/68

think thats any better?

and with lower volts, it wont do 2.8 btw nick

Something is very wrong if your getting them temps....

Sounds stupid but you did remove the plastic pin cap from the motherboard before placing the CPU in the socket didnt you?

I know a few people that have missed that little thing with conre builds....

yes lol, even I'M not that stupid :p :D

i should reseat it, anyone know anywhere i can get AS5, posted to my door, for less than a fiver? :D

Argh..... £5.45 @ SpecialTech >.< Don`t know if u get a 45p discount for 500 posts or not :p

U gotta go down to stock with everything m8 and make sure u`r gear is kewl I think.

Wow that chip is sure a crapper, every Core 2 Duo I've worked with has done 3GHz 1.35v on air lol. (3x E6300, E4300, 2x E6320)
