My brother's four year old Acer laptop still has the original install of Vista Home Premium.

I couldn't believe it myself.

Can anyone beat this?

i fix ppl's computers regularly.

last year, i visited an elderly chap with a 486DX, with win98SE on it. and.... it was in mint condition AND still worked

Had a Compaq lappy with XP on it until recently when I spilled water on it trying to drink from a water bottle while still lying down in bed late at night or early in the morning.

Make sure your bottle tops are secure kids.

Have had a Compaq laptop running XP for just under 8 years now, no reinstall, but plenty of times where that could have been the practical option.

Its been used sparingly the last two years, but it works

I've got a 386SX16 with Windows 3.0 on it. Does that count?

It still works. 640K of EGA goodness with a whopping 40MB hard-drive.

(Windows 3.0 comes on three floppies for anyone curious)

Oh god I remember going through my Dad's floppy disk boxes years ago wondering how on earth somebody could fit an OS onto a few floppy disks.

Bad times

ye :/ lol, 'please turn over the tape'

I've got a Core 2 bundle to rebuild with Vista dedicated to it. came from PC World. It'll get my 9800 GT and be a holiday rig for CoD ses's.

I still have a working ZX Spectrum+ with the tape machine (dont know if that works) and leads

Also, my work still has a VAX machine (if anyone knows what that is) with really old datasets on it, i think that precedes my spectrum
