Is it possible to "screen share" PS3 games?

Sorry in advance if wrong forum.

I was wondering if it is possible to screen share a game from PS3, on PC, using Skype? I realize theres something called a "capture card" that supposedly "captures" the PS3-screen in some software in Windows, but are there any "free" solutions to bring the PS3-screen to the PC?

Whatever you use will require some form of hardware to accept a HDMI input into the PC, whether that be a external usb ''capture card'' or an internal HDMI input pci type card

Nope. You won't find a GPU with HDMI input. You need a capture card.

Okay... I need to figure out if those capture cards allows to show the "real time" picture in fullscreen. Looking at software that comes with some capture cards just shows a little live-window while the rest are the timeline and menus etc.

like this one. I see the arrows to expand the window but, better make sure before I invest some time.

The window on most capture cards is live, so as long as you set skype or whatever to ''see'' th live window as your ''webcam'' then it should work fine. This is essentially how people stream console games to twitch if I'm not mistaken.

Sounds like far more trouble than it's worth though, it'll probably be more than a little laggy/stuttery especially with skype not being made for this purpose... might aswell install skype on your phone, point it at your TV and play :P

Well usually when you pick individual windows to share on Skype you can only pick the whole window, meaning you'd get the timeline, menus and what not with it. But if yoiu can maximize the live window, you'd get only the game. I guess it should be possible, else it wouldnt really make sense for people who livestream console games on Twitch like you mentioned.

I find Skype screen sharing to work quite well. Sure, its not 60fps, but its definitely "smooth" for a screen sharing feature imo.
