Intel's set to receive €9.9 billion in state subsidies for German fab

It's crazy to think a business would pay for its own personal investments for their own gain. The horror! Don't forget it's a cost plus contract so the more Intel spends the more you pay!

Intel just set up a kickstarter. And Germany were the first backers it seems.


Isn't it wonderful that Germany couldnt stand their ground and say no as originally planned... its bad enough their economy is in the toilet and went in recession in first quarter 2023. They allow this?

Either Intel has promised some big returns in some way, along with a plethora of jobs, or Germany feared Intel as a corporation.

I was commenting to Dice on Discord the other day commending Germany for rejecting the request initially. And now I read this...
