Intel's Limited Edition i7 8086K CPU is now available for purchase

"It'll be under £400".

By £1.02. lmao.

Not worth it. Would rather buy a regular one and spend the extra delidding it.

Has anyone here entered the sweepstake? I happened to be online last night when it opened, so I entered my email address (even though the first box didn't actually say what it wanted then, it's since been changed) and Region and hit submit. However, nothing happened. No "thanks for your entry" message, no email confirmation, nothing.

I suspected the web page was broken, so left it. Today, I see they've made some changes to it - mentioned above - so I wonder if I should try again. However, I read in the T&C's - yep I read them - that if you make a second entry both become invalid. Having zero confirmation that my original entry was actually accepted is a pain.

Anyway. It looks like a decent enough CPU, pre-binned and with a slight OC, but is still just a 8700k at heart & uses normal TIM sadly, which means it'll be quite hot. Still, like the 8700k it's based on, if it works fine at higher temps then it's all good :)

Scoob.

Yep, entered myself and my dad will just have to wait and see but since I can't win a thing normally I don't expect to win one.

Same here, wouldnt win anyway, but bull from intels side, only to allow some eu countries to join, we are only allowed to buy it. Waterchiller team done it again. 🤑Awsome marketing gotta love their ways of doing buisness.
