it is unknown when Intel plans to release their new 9000 series CPU lineup or how much the new series will cost

I predict that because of the i9 branding, Exchange rate over here being screwed, The whole war on import/exports going on and if this rumour of shortage of silicon, anything between £850 and £1000 though maybe higher.....

If it is that high Intel are going to be committing suicide especially as you can get an AMD 2700X for £320 which judging by "leaked" benchmarks is roughly as fast as the 9900K when it comes to multi core scores in geekbench when clocked to 4.2GHz and their new 10 core 2800X will likely only be £100 more and faster still in multithreaded workloads than the 2700X.

Intel need to be very competitive here otherwise they risk people moving over to AMD.

Completely agree with you but I have a feeling intel are gearing these up as a Threadripper competitor with the i7's to compete against Ryzen. Admittedly all their previous i9's came under the "e" branding and were on the larger socket but this is why I think they'll push them at really high prices. But I could be completely wrong and they shove them out at £500???

I can see around £450, Maybe at a stretch 500 but anymore and Intel are shooting themselves in the foot.

So either price these above the 7800X and 7820X to avoid competing with themselves (neither of these chips have the full 44 PCIE lanes) or price to compete with Ryzen and discontinue the sub 10 core Skylake X parts (they've already discontinued the sub 6 core parts so Intel have form)?
