Intel's 600P series of M.2 SSDs are now available to purchase in the UK

The price for the 1TB model is terrible when you look at the specs and then compare it to the 1TB Samsung which does a hell of a lot more read/writes for the exact same price of £349.99 -

Intel 1TB

- Read Speed: 1800MB/s
- Write Speed: 560MB/s

Samsung 1TB

- Read Speed: 3000MB/s
- Write Speed: 1150MB/s

Do they cost the same?... And which 1TB Samsung M.2 SSD are you referring to here?...

Its another green pcb though. Would look so out of place is most rigs today. Once Black 1TB PCB m.2 drives are available I will jump at it.

Yes they cost the same that's why I said, They cost the same ^_^

OCUK have the Samsung 1TB PM961 Polaris with the much faster specs - Read Speed: 3000MB/s - Write Speed: 1150MB/s on a permanent 22% off -

On boards like the Sabertooth or Formula you install it behind a little panel so the colour isn't an issue as you will never see it :)

Those numbers never really mean anything though. What's more important is the 4k depth speeds as that is where the ssds will operate 90% of the time.

But it has more numbers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Actually they have the same amount of numbers for reads.. one is just a larger set;)

Tbh though I don't even then think people would notice the difference in these speeds except in maybe large file transfers. Just my thinking, never actually used one

Yeah that is what I thought... At first I thought you meant something along the lines of Samsung's 950 Pro series of M.2 SSDs at 1TB.

Although the one you linked is unfortunately green...

I've an X99 Deluxe II so it would stand out like a sore thumb.

And I have the ASUS X99 Strix, which will also expose it like a bare white arse

Haha love how NBD always comes in with correct info and Dicey have nothing to come back with ^_^

Hoping Intel make a PCIE version of the smaller drives. I want a 256gb, getting a bit fed up at this Sandisk it's really slow. I never thought I would see the speed difference between SSDs but compared to my RAIDR it's as slow as balls. Photoshop takes about four times as long to load, then is laggy for about a minute before it finally picks up. Never did that on my RAIDR, loaded up instantly.

I would reinstall on my RAIDR but it means breaking down the array, etc. I CBA, would rather just leave it as is (with all of my premium games on) and buy another.
