Intel will use the USB Type-C connector for Thunderbolt 3.

Call me crazy but this might work. If, till today, the different conenctor has limited thunderbolt, now it can unleash its true mighty. Homologating with the type C standard I think many thunderbolt cables can be sold to people who don't mind spending a little bit more on a new cable, but don't want buying a new motherboard with a thunderbolt in or an add-in card. Thumbs up for Intel.

From my understadning I thought USB C and Thunderbolt 3 where the same thing except for one thing which was Thunderbolt 3 also support 10gigabit ethernet?
