It seems that SLi is no longer going to be the sole domain of nvidia :)

Nvidia have opened up SLi for production of SLi systems....and it seems Intel is a taker.

This is great news for nvidia as this will give the undeniable muscle of Intel to the nvidia cause

This will mean that chipsets from Intel, Via and SiS could support SLI, given an appropriate motherboard layout.

Looks like its going to be a new round of Intel chipsets to those who wanna keep up with the Jone's new SLi system....I just hope that they have the great range of OC'ing options thatNF4 boards have:

We suspect, however, that existing motherboards based on Intel chipsets won't be compatible with SLI, because some lane configuration mode switches may not be fully implemented, and the graphics slots may be too far apart. Expect only new motherboards featuring Intel chipsets to be SLI.

Ah well.....new motherboard/card for Austin then ;)
