Well considering some PCI-E SSD's on the market now can hit 2000MB/s but cost a metric butt ton these will definitely have to be very competitive in pricing.

I have kept my eyes on these type of SSD's for a long time, however, I doubt you could activate SLi when you use one of these, pretty much my only complaint apart from the high prices.

Doubt no more. You can activate SLI with these installed as long as you have enough slots, however it may not be without issues.

I used to run a PCIE based OCZ RevoDrive SSD in my old 670 SLI'd system and I'd get a slight but noticeable pause when a game loaded or when textures where loaded. It was almost as if the graphics data was taking the long way round. Seeing as this Intel SSD is a lot faster that behaviour may no longer be noticeable, but it won't change the architecture of the motherboard.

If anybody reviews these drives, testing it in a SLI / Crossfire set up is a must.

Well, with Z170 adding more PCIe 3.0 lanes, no one should have issues with PCIe SSDs ( as long as they buy a skylake based system... )

Sweet! Hopefully they have their controller issues figured out, I've lost every single Intel SSD used in workstation machines(starting with 520 series) to failed controllers. Intel tech support / RMA is a major PITA.
