Intel releases information about their 10nm+ Ice lake series of CPUs

Buying a Coffeelake CPU could turn out to be a huge waste of time and money.

If AMD continue to squeeze market share out of Intel, they could well bring forward these new Icelake chips to (late) Q2 2018.

Adding insult to injury, does anyone trust Intel not to change motherboard sockets again either?

Coffeelake could turn out to be one of the shortest lived parts ever.

I am excited to see how much clockspeed Ice Lake can give for 4-core and 6-core laptop CPUs due to power efficiency improvements with Intel's true 10nm.
Maybe 3GHZ base 6-core or better.

In terms of IPC improvement, which, Intel really hasn't had any (read: 0%) Since Haswell/Broadwell ->Skylake , i am doubtful it will be greater than 8% more than Skylake.
Whereas, ARM is still improving IPC at every generation (A76). When will they hit the IPC roadblock? AMD on track for IPC improvements with Ryzen2.. Intel needs a radical change.
