Intel price cuts

lolz...just bought a q6600 G0 :p

ah well, the cuts wont be too significant and q6600 ftw :yumyum:

It`s a strange situation for sure. Q6600 or 45nm - meh. Performance - meh. Overclock - meh.

It just strikes me that 45nm doesn`t immediately shine as a heck of alot better than the last gen. Enough to warrant not buying a Q6600.

as i see it, they will probably go to the same clock to clock but 2 extra cores? probably will last longer

Hmm, any word on how much they will drop by?

I must be the only person left using a B2 chip still...

This is cool.

I've decided against nehalem and instead, I plan a cheeky cheap cpu upgrade to 45nm and just get a sweet new gpu when they appear/drop in price!

maybe 45nm is gonna be the way to go for me then...though my q6600 has been a trusty companion...:(.btw,does any1 know if the 45nm quads are compatible with the 680i. there's been some confusion i believe

haofeng - They are compatible. You may/may not need to flash the bios which is easy. I believe the 'compatibility' issues refore to poor overclocking... Certain revisions of 680 mobos OC better than others. Never owned one so I can't be specific, for some reason a1 is in my head - could be wrong.
