Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 955 CPU Review

Well here is the first detailed review concerning the newest Intel processor that should hit the shelves in the first quarter of 2006.

Apparently the 955 is one hell of a CPU and may beat the shit out of AMD current dual core Let see what will be the answer of AMD to this little beasty

Basically its a CPU for the power user, not the gamer. For instance me running @ 2.8GHz speeds on my X2 would see NO advantage to using the CPU as I can already virus-scan + game......though like the article says I don't do that cause I'm a gamer.

Intel won't catch up with this one I'm afraid - they'll have to give me something more impressive than a £600 CPU that doesn't really outperform the High end AMD chips

Yes you are right for gamers apparently the 955 will not out performed the current high end AMD and with the new FX-60 it may be even worst for Intel. But on the other more professional aspects, the 955 really blows!

From what I've seen over at XS this chip is a force to be reckoned with when put under ice... But, the average overclocker doesn't have sub-zero cooling so I wouldn't be too worried about it.
