Intel is prepping a new six-core Xeon processor, the X5690 will be a dual-socket ready (series 5000) LGA1366 processor based on the 32 nm Westmere-EP silicon. The processor will come at a clock frequency of 3.46 GHz (26.0 x 133 MHz) and can Turbo to 3.60 GHz (27.0 x 133 MHz).The QuickPath Interconnect speed is 6.4 GT/s, it supports triple-channel registered DDR3 memory with its integrated memory controller. Cache levels include 256 KB L2 cache per core, and 12 MB shared L3 cache. The chip is likely to carry a rated TDP of 130W. Intel may release this processor in the next quarter. So guys more six core CPU’s coming out of INTEL’s pocket and it seems that this baby can hit 5GHz easy and that’s by (185X27) and a core voltage of 1.47 V. Very nice stuff from INTEL I’m sure you all agree.

Kudos to them for keeping the high end alight, but they really need to come up with a hexcore that's cheaper to give the 1090 a run for its money. Not that I want them to of course because I am proud of what AMD have achieved, but so that the 10xx AMDS come down in price

There are some rumours that INTEL will release a cheap six core cpu next year something like the 920 when it was first released with a big overclocking potential but nothing solid on when next year or how much would the price tag be though, but hay I smell some kind of tendency from you to buy the 1090, be careful my friend because my mate has one and it is only good with multi processing programs and its gaming performance is very similar to the quad core AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition which is much cheaper and overclocks like the 1090 to 4GHz.
