Intel Dual-Core "Dempsey" Xeon - Cheap?!?

I was just browing Newegg and noticed the new dual core Dempsey Xeon's... They seem mad cheap!

Take that one for example... Do these cheaper ones run in multi CPU setups or just single? I would be interested in building up a server box with a pair of these if they could run in a dual+ cpu environment.

Is it just me or do these look like a damn bargain? 65nm, dual core, 4mb L2... $162?? damn!

Besides being 166fsb,and the mobo's being $350+ a peice, its not really a cheap setup.

Hell yea. I'm actually toying with the idea of load balancing both of the OC3D servers just for sh1ts and giggles.

Pottentially it would speed the site up a bit more, and if ever a server went down you wouldnt even notice it

What we really need is a server in the states or australia, and we'll do realtime database replication over to it so that it can host a replica of the oc3d website. Would make it faster for out friends across the water

Let me look in to some potential partnerships with homegrown isp's and colo companies around the area and see what, if anything, I might be able to work out.

companies here are stingey as all hell though, they hate giving stuff away with a passion. ill try and find an inside connection
