Intel Core i7-8086K processor listed at retailers - a 5GHz Intel processor?

Called it and it got ignored he he :D

Its one of those cases where the information is just about viable enough to talk about now. There have been faked things like this before, CPUs with custom engraved IHS' and the like.

TBH, Intel should do this for the PR stunt value alone, show everybody that they are still the kings of clock speeds. It wouldn't be too difficult for Intel to assemble a bunch of well binned i7 8700K samples.

Intel needs to draw attention away from AMD in whatever way they can.

Oh I didn't mean anything by it, as I myself wasn't sure either but it looked possible. Just glad that it is. Is this their first out of the box 5GHz part?

I do laugh sometimes at how every one immediately discards anything that comes out of China, even though it is usually true.

Last one that springs to mind is the RX 480 the guy had weeks before the release day.

lmfao really?

LOL so Intel are now playing the bin game too? hahaha you know what that means, right? Silicone lottery and 8 pack have had it :D

I were still in the market for a coffee CPU I'd buy it, but I am not and buying it just for the name would be foolish. Still, nice little special edition, just too bad it isn't an octo.
