In other words entry level gamers were starving and Intel threw them a cracker. And now they've realised it and will be piggy piggy oink oink greedy.

I just love the absolutely vile and disgusting way these companies treat their customers and do business. No really, I really do. They could not possibly show a single ounce more contempt toward us than they do already.

I recently bought an i3 7100 to use with my Media sever not realizing that Intel was offering hyper threading with the G4560. At $30 cheaper I would have grabbed the Pentium for sure.

It's more than that. I3 is far far faster. More cache, faster cache, better/faster memory support. Has more integrated features that help lower power consumption, etc. It is much faster. But for a simple HTPC it's not needed.
