Intel 5960X price to stay a while?

Hi,

Can we expect to see the price of the Intel 5960X drop any time in the near future do you think?

I'd not fancy dropping £700+ on this chip to see a price slash happen.
Just wondered if anyone had an inkling and was hanging on for this reason.

they typically hold there value retail wise until intel decides to drop them. Normally it'll happen when it reachs close to EOL AMD drops sooner but intel keeps them longer. Just check current prices of older cpus in their sku's like the 4690K its still p there 2600K yup still up there. So buy with confidence that intell will not hose ya with a price drop a month after you buy it lol.
