Intel 533MHZ Celeron

Hey

i was wondering can my Intel Celeron 533mhz be run wiv out a heat sink but i can get a fan on to it thxs John

it runs at around 35 Degrees wiv HSF

i wouldnt risk it to be honest mate.

even if it runs at that temperature idle, it is likely to get very hot when under load.

its just my teacher took ripped one of the Luggs the Catch catches on to so a HeatSink wont go on ..and someone is interested in a COmputer so i need to build this one up

exactly mate, you need a metal HS atleast to conduct the heat away from the core, but without one it will very quickly accumulate and cause serious damage

Yuppers, Intel 533's are too much of a late model proc to be run w/o a heatsink, gotta be thinkin older than that to get back to heatsinkless proccies.

That's pretty darn hot... I'd also take a thermometer and place it right on the top of the cpu and take the reading, I don't know if I would be trusting that old technologies readouts.

Best not.See if you can pick up something suitable at a Boot Sale usually all kinds a junk can be had for peanuts. Even a 533 will with suitable Ram run XP and provide a lota fun for someone

Not a good idea. You could stick on a heatsink using thermal epoxy, as the 533 has an ihs. You could also use an AMD Socket A heatsink, as long as the zif has extra lugs on the side the main one was broken off of.

chek www.cpucity.com[/url'] i got a p2 h...e] I presume you mean [url]www.cpucity.co.uk, they don't seem to do Socket 370 coolers though, but you can get socket A coolers that would do the job.

LOL Dodgey Bros. Inc doing the ghetto mods, in all seriousness though I'd be getting another heatsink;)
