Up until a couple of week ago, I was the happy owner of a full watercooled system running rock stable at 3.5Ghz, which was looking like that:
But, then I decided to go for a phase change. I finally received what was probably the last GT available in the UK. After some hesitations, I decided to go for the phase 1 of the integration of my PC71 with this MachII GT. My beloved machine suddenly turned into a big big pile of junk like this
:
I started to use my dremel in order to clear the rear of the CPU just like phil told, and to cut the hole for the mach2 head. My problem was that this definitively didn't look right:
Having bought the Lian Li kit, I tried to find a way to transform this PC61 kit into a PC71 kit. I assembled the kit using an internal aluminium structure I built to fill the front gap:
In order to avoid having my Mach2 dusting my carpet, I cut the panel of the default Enlight black kit and attached it to the bottom. I also found a way to attach the LCD. Thank god, the USB cable provided is long enough:
I finally got something that looked like this:
I finally used the what was left of the Enlight side panel to close the rear sides of the Mach2 unit:
Yeah, I know, the color is not quite the same..
I'm thinking of using some paint maybe later to have a match. Well, after two days of work, I got something like this now:
Phase 2 now is the integration of the watercooling for the GC and chipset. I'll keep posting in this topic if you find it interresting.
