Installing Catalyst... freeze with Crossfire

Been having this issue on multiple systems using different brands and models. Only thing similar, these systems run Crossfire setups.

When ever I download and try and install the latest catalyst drivers (and this has been happening on multiple versions) it freezes. Typically the install runs along... then the screens blank out once, come back, blank out a second time and pop. System is frozen.

Searching I found some reference to Visual Studio 2005 and needing a patch, tried that, didn't help.

Has anyone else seen this?

have you tried using driver sweeper to uninstall your old drivers? have you tried taking one of the cards out before you install your drivers? have you tried disabling crossfire before updating? ive never seen what your talking about before but i have had problems updating my drivers with crossfire enabled. i had to uninstall my drivers and use a program called driver sweeper in safe mode to clean up my old drivers, then install the newest drivers.

Thanks for the info. I have tried removing everything. Tried disabling crossfire... I am not ripping a card out everytime. Maybe time to go back to SLI...
