Images of AMD's RX 570 and RX 580 have appeared online

So it looks like no process improvement, not even a minor one...

Kinda disappointing, I was hoping for 1400 MHz stock clocks for the 580

You need to remember that the clock speeds for the 580 are in overclocked 480 territory, we will need to see what aftermarket versions and overclockers can do.

The clocks of the 580 are the same as the highest aftermarket 480s available, so aftermarket variants could go higher. We won't know until reviewers and end-users overclock them.

Looks like they are still using the same old crappy reference coolers which is going to nerf the S**T out of them, lets hope the AIB partners make them effective

I've got a couple waterblocked "580's" wonder if I could eBay them now :P

Haha, yeah. Naming schemes are a bit strange ATM.

Last gen it was the GTX 480 RX 480 comparison.

Or when the i7 6800K launched when AMD already had an A10 6800K APU a few years earlier.

Some custom 480s already ship with ~1340MHz stock, and the 570 shown here doesn't even get +40MHz

There were previous rumours regarding the use of an improved 14nm FF process, but it doesn't look like it's the case (unless the power consumption also goes down by 10-30W)

Jesus Christ, why even bother, like? It looks like it's going to be the same fiasco as with the fx series cpu for the next few years. Nvidia must be laughing their asses off...

If the Reference Card has a Boost Clock almost the same as my Sapphire Nitro+, I would expect these to OC much higher especially with custom coolers.
1500Mhz looks possible here as even with the lousy stock fan it isn't thermal throttling at the higher Boost which tells me this is better binned silicon at lower watts previously reserved for Commercial binned chips.
I'm excited!

I always suspected that the Golden Sample sent to Jay2cents was a commercial chip mounted on XFR's custom PCB. This pretty much confirms it.

Not really. A lot of those card's do hit those clocks. We have a forum member who got a better card than he did.

We don't know what process it'll be. So hopefully it is the new one and it does give better OC headroom.

A lot of these cards?
I have not seen anyone hit Jay's speeds on Air to date at the TPU Owner's Club even though many rushed to get that XFR Black Edition. I am glad that someone did though, but I don't think it's as common as you say.

What was Jay's overclock again?
