You would think that at a business that relies on the internet for shipping estimates and global address book information that we would have something better than IDSL.

IDSL = 100k down / ~50k up

We started with dialup while we were waiting for Verizons bitch asses to get out here and install our DSL, and I can barely tell a difference now that we're on it... bah, cheap bastards!

Apparently the new business center that we're in offers a 44mbps T3 connection for $600 a month, I told the owners to go with it but they shuttered at the price and cheaped out with this gay ass shit. Very sad considering my home connection (cable) is a 4mb connection... bleh! :ar:

Just thought I'd share my dissapointing work internet with everyone...
 
occasionlayy brodband is not as good as idsl/isdn sue to the lower contention ratio on isdn/idsl so u may actually b quicker on idsl.isdn

ISDN = Integrated Services Digital Network = Runs on copper phone lines = The shittiest form of low end broadband available.

IDSL = The slowest form of DSL available

Both of which suck a huge ass, cable will forever rule the home connection kingdom :) :worship:
 
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that IDSN is hella fucking expensive which makes it an even bigger waste of sperm.

I thought ADSL ran on copper phone lines aswell?

Mmm.. I'll be getting ADSL2 in a month or so, 12000/1000 and it's cheaper than ADSL :D

Yeah I think it does too but fortunately for ADSL it uses a newer technology with a lot higher transfer speeds than ISDN can offer.

ADSL2?! Does that use the ideas of transmitting several different data channels down a single line by using different frequencies for each? There's a looong word for that which is the proper term for it, somewhere on Google...

All I know is that it goes faster, this is the only Australian ISP doing it atm: www.internode.on.net
