ok im having issues with my icy box

i bought this along with a 160GB IBM-Hitachi Deskstar IDE 8MB, i managed to format it up to 32 gig for now but problem is i can now drag and drop files when attached via usb but i have no menu when plugged into screen neither can i play audio tracks through it

i just get a icybox logo on the screen which occasionally flashes to another screen with 2 boxes for a split second and then back again

any ideas :worship:

Hi Barnie, as I mentioned in your other thread, the best place to put this question is here: http://forum.overclock3d.net/forumdisplay.php?f=148

However, make sure that you TOTALLY remove the USB lead from the Icy Box when attempting playback. It wont work otherwise.

i have to admit raidsonic are damn quick with there replies

i didnt use fat32 to format but ntfs or something like that

use is taken totally out so dont know if the fat32 format will change things

and how did you get around the 32gig problem, im not totally sure on the dos format system you linked from raidsonic

many thanks for the help

Hi Barrie, It needs to be FAT32 as the device cant read any other file systems. Try formatting to 32GB on FAT32 first and see if you can get the device working. Then maybe contact Raidsonic on how to use that DOS tool as I cant remember for the life of me :(

all working now cheers

downside now i have is working out which video formats i can use, ive used a few to which i thought were correct but it wont read the formats

other than that ill add to the review in a few days to give some extra info on what i thought
