Ice Build Up Question

Hi am new the forum and to using the Mach2 GT having purchased my unit from Extreme Prometeia. All went well installation wise but I have noticed a small build up of ice around the insulated pipe towards the front of the GT unit looking at it from the left hand side! Is this normal? Because it’s dripping onto the floor of the unit. It’s not a vast amount but not having experience of this kind of cooling I would be interested to know if its ok current evaporator temp is -74

One other Question how do I read the CPU temp or do I need to buy something else to monitor this

My system

Lian Li P75 6 external drive bays

Tagan 480W PSU

IC7 MAX 3 mother board

2 Gig Twinx Pro PC400 /500 Memory

INTEL P4 3.4 Extreme Edition CPU

Prometeia Mach 2 GT Lian Li Kit

4 x 74Gb Western Digital Raptor Enterprise (10Krpm,8MB) – SATA in RAID 0

2 x 250Gb Western Digital Sata Dives

256MB XFX GeForce 6800 ULTRA DDR 3 Tv/DVI

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS 71 THX

NEC 3500A Ivory x16 DUAL LAYER DVD-Writer,

Nova-t-pci Digital Terrestrial TV card

Any advice on my concerns would be much appreciated

Thanks Anthony

Normaly if you get ice build up you are not loading the gt up enough you need to clock your cpu higher do you run your fans up flat out if so turn them down

Sorry to change the subject but is your mobo modded at all anthony? Any VMODS or such?

I should be getting this board tomoz and am going to get it completely modded. Was just wondering if yours was, cos you have the same CPU as me, same TwinX RAM, and same mobo. If yours is stock I may leave the mods for a while :D.

Welcome to EP-UK by the way

Cheers

Thank you Fatty

I left the system at its default installed set up and the fans at normal. I shall try reducing them to low noise and see if that solves the problem. Or just hit the FSB.

Hi Boardy

Funny having the same kit , I would be interested in what memory timings you use and any other useful info you might have to over clock the 3.4 EE and the Max. I haven't got around to modding the IC7 MAX yet but bought one as a spare to do just that. So far I've hit 4.0 without much tweaking The Twinx and AGP volts were upped but not messed with the memory timings yet or CPU V

Thanks for the Warm Welcome

Anthony :)

anthony. Currently got the 3.4EE sitting in my P4P800-E Deluxe as my MAX hasn't arrived yet, due tomoz :p.

My OCZ 3500 RAM is sat at 3.1v 2-4-4-8 5:4 timings @ 250FSB. Proc is @ 4.2Ghz (250FSB). Dazboots currently has my TwinX in his AMD FX rig should be getting that back tomoz. Havn't been so lucky with the clocking of the TwinX in here so far, don't have enough volts on the board and the TwinX for some reason doesn't like my DDR Booster .

I'l start up another thread and copy this into it, as this should really be in the Overclocking section, so we can continue talking about this in there ;).

Cheers
