i7 5820/5930K

Intel didnt want to send those out for NDA and tbh with the work Ive done this week to do what I have I wouldnt have done these either.

Tom, are you going to make any kind of review or OC guide for the 5820K (non ES )?

That thing you said about 5820K speed binning scares me a bit, since I'm really interested in that CPU.

Speed binning has been around for a long long time. You just didn't realize it.

I know, but heavy speed binning could explain why Intel released the 5820K as a six core, priced only ~50$ more than the 4790K.

For example, i7 920 ( D0 ) overclocked fairly well ( they could easily go over 4 ghz with good voltages ) even compared with 950s and 960s, which costed a lot more.

I wouldn't like to see 5820Ks having trouble to reach 4 ghz...
 
Just had a quick look at other reviews and none of them seem to OC well. But then again they are all engineering samples i believe.

Where did you find 5820K OC reviews? I can only find TastyPC's one and she got 4.6 GHz and 2666 MHz ram with 5820K, but I don't know the vcore needed
