I54 Volunteers

Hello everyone,

Just been looking around on the Insomnia website and found out you can volunteer to help out at the event.

This seems like a great opportunity to get some experience on your C.V. so thought I'd share with everyone on here.

You have to be 18 and over unfortunately but it's still a good way to get some extra experience.

The event is on the 3rd-6th of April in Coventry.

There's six different types of volunteers:

Festival Volunteers (Green Shirts) – Festival Volunteers help manage various activity and feature zones throughout the event, including areas like the Exhibition Hall and the Meet & Greet Zones. Festival Volunteers work for two day shifts, and get the third day off to explore the venue at their leisure. This is a great option for people who want to get involved but also want a day to themselves to see YouTubers or participate in other day content at the event.

Check-in Team (White Shirts) – Getting thousands of people safely into the venue isn’t easy, and requires a coordinated and structured check-in team capable of helping people resolve any event issues they may have.

Technical Support Team (Yellow Shirts) – Having an issue with your internet or power in the LAN halls? The Yellow Shirts are your first port of call for these problems, helping to keep the gaming experience live and well throughout the event.

Systems Operations Team (Blue Shirts) – Tasked with the management and maintenance of our core network, the Blue Shirt team ensure everything remains online, and that the event is as protected as possible from any internet or networking issues.

Tournament Administration Team (Red Shirts) – At Insomnia, we run various competitive gaming tournaments that require administration and oversight. If you love esports and want to gain experience helping to run high-level tournaments, we’re looking for helpful and informed volunteers to join this team.

Content Team – Insomnia is a huge event, and one deserving of the best content coverage we can muster. The Content Team is filled with passionate photographers, videographers and writers who help cover all of the great content in the event to go out on our various channels. If you’re interested in photography or video and would like to gain experience working as part of a live event content coverage team, we’re always looking for passionate individuals.

I've applied for the Green Shirt, as you get two days helping out then another to explore the event.

I hope some of you guys sign up too!

Thanks for reading,
Antony :)
