My Budget Watecooling

I have previously tried my hand at watercooling and failed epically (much swearing, cursing and a HAF X chucked in the loft).

I moved my stuff into a Fractal R3 which I thought looked nice, until my Missus came home and said it looked like a fridge.

I had also been missing the looks of my HAF X particulary the window

I Knew I was going to have a boring weekend and wanted to try to watercool again.

First time was a disaster I didnt flush out the rad and the coolant went cloudy. I disassembled it and cleaned it out.

Then I punctured the radiator with a 35mm screw that was mixed up with the 30's.

So I had a budget of £100 and I already owned fittings, tubing and Dye from previously.

I managed to get a Ek xt240mm rad , Ek LTX Block, Phobya 260 pump and an XSPC UV Blue res.

I went slightly over by a tenner and hadnt got any coolant or any money left, so I went to Morrisons and got some DI Ironing water

for 50p (I paid at self service wih a handful of coppers and 5p's the shame LOL).

About an hour and a half later and I ended up with this.

Im really very happy with it, as it hasnt really cost me much money and I think it looks the buisness.

My temps are good I got 63 degrees using prime for an hour on a I5 2500k 4.8ghz @ 1.3 volts.

Which is actually better than my last setup which had a XT 360mm rad and a Supreme HF Block.

I know compression fittings and half inch tubing isnt to everyones taste, Nor is UV lighting but I like the look of it.

As you can probably tell I dont normally write stuff like this, but I am doing so today to show that you can do things on a budget

which still look good and perform well.

Oh yeah and big thanks to Tom for getting me into all this, I would never have even considered it if id not seen his vids.

Another thanks to mayhem for making such cool dyes.

My favourite bit of making the loop is dropping in the dye and watching the tubing react to the light (Why is it yellow when its uv blue ??).

I wish I could be as constructive as that when I'm bored.
