Not enough profit for me tbh.
However, u don`t have major bills or anything yet do u ? So it seems more than it is.
What IT or other techs would put into this is how much they would get paid per hour to build this as a job - frankly that`d take it well in excess of $2k, so it`s hard to accept that. Plus if u enjoyed it, then it`s not exactly work.

I would call labor more than just putting the thing together, u have to trawl forums for this`n`that, test things etc etc
Thing u could bare in mind is to make u`r money from this one, buy stuff not as-new (as top of the range, xyz gfxcard instead of xfx) to build another one of similar spec. But be sure the goods are of a good enough quality not to bite u in the butt. Or sell the item as-is, with no comeback after a couple of weeks - private sale after all.
In the meantime, u bank the surplus to build u`r own rig.
It`ll seem a slow process to start with, but the monies do tend to increase increasingly in amounts, til u can afford to build 2 rigs at the same time to sell AND already have u`r own. Beauty of this is, if a new piece of kit hits the scene, G90 card or summit, u can very easily afford to buy it at the extortionate price it hits the scene at without worrying about it, cos u know it`ll sell later as an item.
Biggest thing to overcome is the "come-back" factor. Sell them as-is, be sure the user is happy with it when they get it.. then u have to walk away - even if it goes against the grain to do so. Cos all these pcs will add up and u will soon find alot of u`r time taken up with "meh, my printer doesn`t work on this one, it did on the old one I had - this one u sold me isn`t much use cos it don`t even work my printer - eff sake" - gotta get the hell away from any situations like that.
