Take a look at what I think i`ve just done.

Sorry, I`m not gonna bench right now...I have to finish a report for uni and need my computer to work.

Please cross your fingers for me :)

Kenny

By the Way.... That screenshot was taken after i`d restarted the machine.

lol those setting are aloways there if your talking about teh agp stuff, also look at eth core of the graphics crad also see what scores are like do they match a 7800gt

I was hinting at the 24 pixel pipes over the 20 pipes on a normal 7800GT :)

i`ve finished the report (finally!) and had to have a quick blast of 3Dmark03.... no big increase :( I had a slightly higher clock speed than my previous run, with tighter memory timings, so thats what gave me the increase.

Bit disappointed, but at least I didnt break anything trying :)

Is it possible to unlock the otehr vertex shader using the drag box?

What memory timings are you uusing and what overclock int eh RAM did you achieve - this is somehting I have never had the bottle (or reason) to change but it souns like and interesting proposition.

The increase I had was from the system RAM.. different settings from what I used with my HynixD.

Might try the other vertex shader later. Good chance that`ll be locked properly as well tho.

Ahhhhh, I thought you had tightened the RAM timings on the 7800 :)

Also, check out the possibility fo flashing a GTX BIOS to it, sounds like a great opportunity.

Will have to see if BFG have one that sets core/mem to 430/1200 coz from overclocking I know that my card aint capable of fantastic speeds on stock cooling. Will see what I can dig up, but if anything, its the BIOS flash that worries me, because of the cards speed limits.

:)

EXTREME Prometeia, after all!!

Kenny

You can edit the clock speeds before you flash using nibitor so you can set ram and core at say 420/1150 for starters and take it from there.

Mav

Noted ;) so it doesnt matter if the link goes. Thanks Mav!

Will see how I get on using V2.2. Got all the BIOS (well..all 2) that I need all I need to do is hook up a floopy drive and have a shot of whisky for the nerves ;)

PAH: first BIOS flash didnt work. Undaunted, I shall try again. The pipes I "unlocked" also arent showing up on the front page of Riva. Comes up fine in the "low-level-systems" page.

The 7800GTX BIOS wasnt happening, so I settled for a voltage increase in 3D mode, with a fan speed increase to go with it. :) Prob wont do much, but makes me feel like a true overclocker :p
