I need a new Headset

Not that mine are broken, but am getting fed up with them for some reason.

Now I love the idea of wireless.

or

And have a desk mic. Not sure exactly what the difference is with those two, or if the more expensive ones are worth the extra ££'s

Or these:

Not buying gaming headsets as quite frankly I've found the quality appalling.

Reckon the cheaper Sennheisers will be decent?

EDIT: Some extra reasons why I like the idea of wireless:

* no bloody silly wires when they're on your head

* not tied to my chair

* won't forget I've got them on and break a wire

* always moving stuff around in PC room and wires get caught up

Reasons not to go wireless:

* battery life?? Though I would have though 23 hours was enough

* interference??

* heavy due to batteries

Anyone know other sets that are decent? Mebbe a real lightweight pair with good sound? Not in-ear tho

You have good reasons for wireless, and I don't think they'd be too heavy, but 23 hours would last me like a good gaming week, if i was going hardcore, which would be annoying. I personally like the wired, but if not the wired, go for those cheaper wireless you have up there, the others don't seem worth it.

I don't play 23 hours straight...ever :p

The stand recharges the wireless ones so I'd set them on there. Plus I use speakers when not gaming.

But ye like some other people am still a bit suss of wireless sound

What the hell was I thinking, wasn't thinking rechargeable lol. It may be a pain to remember to charge, but not if the dock is on your desk. Wireless it is, though i'm not a fan of desk mics.

May I Suggest

A Bluetooth module

+

A Bluetooth Headset

-- you can use them as normal

or if u want stereo goodness a nice pair of Sennheiser HD555's will blow you away --- coupled with a desk mic ;) [or HD 595's if u have an external amp]

Hmm, but would the sound be good? At least with a pair of Sennheissers I know they will sound nice

I have ncie headphones for my iPod but I don't want in-ear ones

What are the Senn's connecting with? I would have thought it was bluetooth?

a BTooth setup mequates to a good comms system

the HD555's are Audiophile level and can be driven by iPods and dont need an ext amp (a fave on a lot of Aphile forums) .. they connect via 6.3mm / 3.5mm audio jacks (wireless will drop some quality)

the HD595s are even better than the 555s but they need a more powerful source / amplifier required

Don't buy stuffs from eBay generalismo, so they look noice :)

I love mine

And no need for external amp (the higher end ones will) --- travel friendly

EDIT -- they have a 10 foot cable -- very useful

oh and they give a very true representation of audio so no over emphasized bass --leading to them playing with equalizers v well

Nice, bought :)

U R gonna love them (they sound gr8 out of the box, then the 60 hour burn-in sets in and :D even better)

.... there is one slight side issue -- they are super comfortable and u will want to use them a lot and this opens the possibility of falling asleep with them on -- i hope u dont have ne night terrors

Thanks Joe, they are simply stunning compared to my Zalmans. Sound reproduction is awesome with every little detail filled out in games and actually far superior as far as spacial awareness goes.

Music is a pleasure to listen to on them and only my set of Gale floorstanders beats them for good sound :)

Oh ye: they're very comfortable and ultra-light too

whoops didnt see this post (was gonna post and ask watcha fink of em)

IMHO they rele are some of the best cans that can work with standard hardware (i.e. non-amplified)

glad u like em :D

Hint : listen to some Lossless audio that post 1995 as CD mastering before then had widespread use of DRC --- high and low frequencies are culled to protect lower end hardware (@ least thats the official BS from the tards that use it) yet the frickin chilis are still using it

BTW I am envious of ur Gale set .. what model etc

They are awesome, simply amazing headphones, not going to use anything else (unless it's mass expensive :p) again :)

I;ve already been listening to lossless stuff, just for a laugh :p

Umm the Gale's are just a normal set of their floorstanders from their Cinema range of speakers, can't complain :)

hmmm cld I interest you in a gold Body and leopard fur lined set ???

Price :: a few limbs

teh Gales must be leetlove

Ye the Gales are awesome. Properly crisp base with good full midrange and the silk tweets really put out smooth high range. Don't get the chance to turn them up loud much but when I do it's heaven :)

damn my skin has just turned green !!!

looks like ill finally have to get that shower :( (well it was a good 7 month run)

*is jealous* --- if the understatement was too subtle

lol I got it :p

I mean sure if you sit in an air tight room and compare speakers all day mine won't be the very best, but hell if you want nice deep smooth sound with decent bass reproduction (for decent money) then you can't beat em imo
