I Need a Camera Tripod

Okay guys... After 2 solid years of service, my $40 Kodak tripod has died. I somehow managed to strip a screw in the head.

Anyways, rather than try to fix it, I might as well get a new one. This time, I would like to budget no more than $200 to buying it. I use a pretty small camera; a Canon Vixia HF-R300, so weight isn't much of a concern.

My main needs are something that is very tall. At least 6 feet (182.88cm) would be ideal. I often need to film a top down view, and I film on a 2 foot tall table. Another important thing is an easily removable quick mount. I record TTL style, and don't pause when taking off the camera. My old tripod required you to pull a leaver sideways, to an exact angle to pull it out. I want something where I pull a pin or something, and the mount slides out. A fluid head might be nice, but I don't know if that fits into this kind of budget.

Also keep in mind that I'm in the US, so make sure it's available here... I can't afford to ship a tripod in from Singapore.

Thanks for any help.

the best thing about manfrotto tripods and they are best best in two part: the legs and the head.

my brother has the 055 Basic Tripod + Pro Fluid Video Mini Head, and i am also thinking of going the same way as him. manfrotto kit is the dawgs danglees!

it is very nice, robust/sturdy, solid, and not a lightweight (no wind will move it ;) )

they are available in the US, but i am not aware of the pricing there
