Got my Q6600 on Tuesday 3.6Ghz with 1.425v which is not bad.

will push higher when new my psu arrives along with my 2900Pro.

That must be a good one, 1.55v here for 3.7ghz 24/7... Think 3.6ghz was 1.5v or just under... This will bench at 4ghz 1.6v so yours seems better!!!

Nice!

Cooling with the PA120.3 and D-tek Fuzion with the Quad Split Nozzle kit my friend brought back for me from the US.

oh and MX-2 Thermal Compound

How much did you pay for your Q6600? Same question to you Mr. Smith...

Saw G0 stepping at 163 quid earlier.

I paid £170/180 because I had next day delivery which was pretty pricey but I wanted it... The next day!

Ichi - decent temps mate, I have the 8800 and NB in the loop and more volts so i'm at ~40 on the cores...

Where are you getting that reading from? Software, BIOS, or the coolant temperature? I'm really curious, as I haven't been able to find an accurate way of measuring.

tuco - Core Temp 0.95 here... Also you can see in the screenie Ichi is using v0.95.4

My temps are actually better, looking at the time of my post I'd say I'd been gaming for a few hours, looking now after an hour of doing 'normal' things temps are 36-37-32-34. Not too bad

Nice, im getting some pretty high temps, my Q6600 doesn't seem to want to overclock much. Im at 3.33GHz with 1.4 i think, Stable so far for 3hours 5 mins on Prime95, but i hit high 30s at idle, and 65-68 on the hottest cores and 57-60 on the coolest.

Scott, these quads can take the heat - I wouldn't sweat hitting 80 odd under prime tbh.

Also, step up to 1.55v to see what you can get ;)

Ill whack it up, 3 hours stable is enough to let me know i can fall back if i need.

I have got my GTX overclocked in the same loop too along with the NB, that doesn't help much but it's all good, the GTX is idling about 48, i know these things idle about 70 with the stock coolers so i can't see that holding me back.

Download OCCT set it for 30mins CPU and RAM, high priority.

If it passes that its stable. YOu can run prime after if you like but instead of waiting around for hours this is an awesome stress test done in 30mins. You can obviously up the time on OCCT too...

Your gtx card has nothing to do with your cpu OC, it won't be adding that much heat to your loop and by your temps you have headroom on the cpu temp.

Cheers for that, i upped the FSB forgot to up the voltage and crashed it after 3 seconds :D

Upped the voltage now and it seems to be doing ok.

Now i have my second orange voltage light lol

I don't like high temps, either to combat that whilst testing (i passed 30mins @3.42GHz with 1.55v pretty high, but according to CPUZ that goes down to around 1.48-1.5. i did this

a total of 17 fans cooling the system (inc.PSU).... it's noisy.

Temps were better though 59*C load max. This is only after it running for 2 days though so the MX-2 needs time to cure or what ever. I have a feeling under load with the pannels on and 5 less fans temps might rise a bit, but it's not everyday you have 4 cores all maxxed out at 100% is it.

Think i might buy a Corsair RAM cooler that Ballistix is getting pretty toasty.

On air, my Q6600 gets as high as 68 C under a full stress load. That is when set at 3GHz@1.2875v. At stock frequency, when folding on all four cores, it gets to around 59-60 C. I am seriously considering a liquid cooling setup.

Aye, but your a big girl :D seriously though, the quads can take it! Mine doesn't go higher than high 60's under full load (prime/occt)

...i passed 30mins @3.42GHz with 1.55v that is quite high volts for 3.4 but still sweet for 24/7 imo, perhaps back down to 1.5v if you are cautious and settle for 3.33ghz

...it's not everyday you have 4 cores all maxxed out at 100% is it. No, I never have 4 cores at 100% in real life. Ever.

Why? Your temps are more than fine!

Not a girl, just sensible tbh. I prefer a stable OC after I faff around gettig high as possible

I know, I was joking :)

I too only run 100% stable OC's :)

ICHI! Where are you? How's you OC going?

Im down to 1.51 or something like that. Any lower and i get crashes, trust me to get a bad Quad for my first OC :( I suppose i could always lap it, but ill only do that as soon as i know this chip is good, and if temps get crazy in the summer.

It's touchable but it's damn warm for RAM imo. I don't like the OCZ one, i prefer the Corsair.
