To find a case I can't somehow complain about.

Now I realize that I can just make something up and complain about it should you be successful, but I can promise I won't and that I don't want to. The point of this post is to ask wether it's me who is insanely demanding or if there's a case missing out there. It's as if we have all the features anyone could want very well defined, but no case manufacturer has put them together yet. And please don't reply with "What do you need it for?" or "Why do you want that?" I just do, and I can pay for it if someone makes it.

Guys I'm seriously, I want a case that:

Takes E-ATX but isn't a HPTX behemoth. There may be a bunch of cases which are only classed as "full towers" that take up as much space next to a desk as one of these HPTX monstrosities, but I want one that doesn't take up more floor space than necessary.

Has ACTUAL 8+1. Not 7+0 not 10 or 11. There's a hand full of cases out there with 7+1 and 8+1 listed because there's a sideways mounted PCI bracket on the back. I realize people mount fan controllers and secure their wires in them and so on. But it doesn't count. In other cases the +1 simply doesn't exist if you install a power supply. You may call me a unimaginative, hopelessly conventional sheep for using one of these, but I do, and I'm very happy with my PSU. Finally it's 8+1 I want. Either 9 actual expansion slots or 8 with extra room between the bottom of my motherboard PCB and my PSU. (Examples are HAF X and A77F)

Has the option for mounting my PSU at the bottom or the top. This is an obvious watercooling convenience. (Examples are HAF 932 and A70F)

Has removable HDD trayS. Yes plural. Why do I have to drill out rivets and remove a cage for all nine hard drives when so many cases have great solutions for this. (Examples are HAF 912 and Lancool K9)

Has a combination of intake fans and removable hard drives that allows me to mount a 240 radiator in the front of my case without having to use a jigsaw or drill out rivets. Once again a watercooling thing, but I'm not even a big watercooling guy. I just think this is such an immense no brainer. ANY case with two 140mm intake fans in the front should be able to do this.

Does not have a side or top panel that looks like it was ravaged by too many Humvee engineers, bored and on meth. Or front panel for that matter. The point here is I may want to add a window for example, or even better, have my computer standing in a place where you can see it. And we're not only talking Aesthetics here. I've seen some pretty bad solutions with air intake as well.

Now there's more, but we're getting to the lesser problems now. I could complain about lack of 5.25" bays as well, or bad quality punching of grills in the case, where a big hole and a wire grill would be better. But I think I'd rather see what other cases we can come up with, and talk about what I think the problem is.

Thing is with cases generally speaking is non of them do all the things you want them to do you have to compromise on a few things and pick the one that supports the features most important to you.

I don't think there are any cases that have all the options you have listed.

The only one I can think of that comes close is the Xigmatech Elysium, you can fit your PSU at the top or bottom and it fits EATX boards. They are supposed to be bringing out some brackets that allow you to fit a 480 rad in the front but I suppose you could just stick a 240 on it instead though, as for side panel window there is already one and if you look at Toms review for the case it doesn't look like you could do your own without messing the side panel up. 
 
Now I promised not to make up things just to have something to complain about, but I really don't like the aesthetics of the elysium. Now if I could do away with all the screws on the sides of the front bezel and blabla ^^

Like a bunch of other cases the Elysium is so close to what I'm talking about. It's a very HPTXy case though, and the size does factor in a bit here. But imagine it with removable HDD trays. Maybe even so they could be turned to let the cables out the back. It would be a completely different case. Then they'd just have to lose the screws on the front and deliver it with a plain side panel and we'd be set. ^^

I've spent the last 5 mins trying to think of a case that is able to do those things and there is non that don't offer some of the things you listed but don't take away some of the others

The RV03 is sort of one, it has the front mounted PSU, you can fit 2 120mm fans on the inside of the optical bays which you could fit a 240mm rad on instead and I have read you can get a EATX board in there as well and all the cabel management is at the rear.

It's one of those compromising situations, it's like the whole looks vs performance issue, you have to sacrifice a bit of the one for the other.
 
One thing I will say about the Elysium. They sorted the rad thing in the top nicely. For a top panel where you don't have to drill your own holes, it has the right options.

And Raven cases. I do like me some 90° Silverstone cases. One of my friends just bought a Fortress 2 and he hates it, but I'm sooo jealous. Then we can start talking aesthetics.

But SieB, do you not agree that all the things I list are things you will commonly find in modern cases.

None of them seem extraordinary to me. It's just the combination of them that doesn't exist anywhere for some reason.

Yes mate I agree, they are all features you see in modern cases just not all of them are available in any one case

When the review for the Fractal Arc came out I thought it was just about perfect (maybe a bit small for you) however it would have been stunning if you could have mounted a 240 rad in the front without any modding. It would have been so easy for them to do as well. nvm.

silverstone tj07, doesnt have 7+1 or psu on the top... but has removable hard drive bays, slick aesthetics, 480 and a 240mm radiator in there with absolutely no modding just a bit of double sided tape , fits e-atx motherboards and comes with a window option

The Arc is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Imagine it with an option to mount a PSU at the top. First of all this would make the perforated top panel really come to it's right, because you'd be able to mount a radiator in it, but it would also add a couple of 5.25" bays for a bayres or whatever. Then just add two expansion slots. The increased height of the case would make the front panel large enough to take a 240 rad.

This is what I'm saying man. There's a case missing in the world, and it's just because someone hasn't made it yet.
 
HPTX Tank looks like a really nice case, but yeah there's just a little too much of it. The difference between what you need for E-ATX and what you get for HPTX is very obvious when inspecting the dimensions of a case like that.

But yeah it's basically what I'm asking for. I just want smaller. More compact you know. A case with these features that fits the kind of motherboards normal people own.
 
Oh yes that does look nice. And it's white, so Tom will want to get at it :D

But look at the place he wants to fit a 240 in the bottom. He says it needs to be in the bottom, and can't fit in the front. Now I need to see a 240 in the bottom with an AX1200 next to it, because my guess is he's gonna run out of space. I also want to know how thick the rad in the top is because it's literally touching the 5.25" bays.
 
Shinobi XL on the other hand. Gonna look into that ^^

Even though it looks like it's gonna be hard to get a proper fat rad in push/pull in the top.
 
When I say ATCS I think I describe a certain understated look.

The Switch has plastic pos written all over it. I don't even care about it's numerous shortcomings, because I have to spend time figuring out how I can make it not make my eyes bleed.

This was one of my points with this thread in the first place. Where's the nine slot ATCS, where's the nine slot a71f and where the fuck is the nine slot Define XL?
