I Choo-Choo-Choose you!(DDC or D5?)

Mapping out my very first custom loop!
This will be a CPU only loop to cool whoever wins the 7740k vs. ryzen showdown in a few weeks. 95w+, so let's say 145watts to be safe.

I'll be using EK everything for aesthetic and local availability purposes. I'm sure bitspower and others make some great stuff, but i can pick up emergency ek fittings from my local store in a pinch.

Corsair Air 740
front mounted EK-CoolStream SE 360 (Slim Triple)
EK-Supremacy EVO block (will wait to buy until cpu compatibility is confirmed or model updated)
6 compression fittings minimum, possibly 8. Can't plan my drain port until i have pump dimensions.

TLDR- DDC vs D5 in this use case?
Really want to do a pump/res combo unit. Can they be mounted horizontally?
What's my real ideal flow rate here?

You want to aim for 1GPM (gallon per minute) and the pumps these days easily achieve this without trying. The only way to push a pump to its limits is to go completely overkill on rotary fittings. Even then it is hard to do if you are going down the DDC or D5 route.
